La Cachette has been refurbished for the 2011 season and now has a third washroom, which is en suite with new power shower. There is also a new luxury jumbo size Hot Tub. Flat screen TVs new kitchen, indoor sauna, PC, Wi-Fi access, satellite TV It includes bath robes all linen, welcome pack, internet access, fire wood. Just a 5 minute drive from the nearest ski area and 10 minutes from the centre of Chamonix makes La Cachette the ideal location. Availability
La Retraite is a 250-year-old traditional Savoyard style chalet only five minutes walk from the centre of Chamonix, and convenient for the ski lifts. Built on three floors and completely refurbished, the chalet's charm is enriched by sympathetic restoration to the original French style. The chalet is privately owned and run.
The luxurious accommodation offers three sizeable double bedrooms all en suite, one with its own balcony from where you can absorb private views of the inspiring Mont Blanc Massif. There is also a cosy loft bedroom and this also has its own dedicated bathroom downstairs.
The lounge area, with high ceiling and traditional wood burning stove, is open plan and creates the perfect welcoming atmosphere for those aprés ski drinks and romantic supper evenings. Together with the wonderful views of the sun setting on Mont Blanc, this all serves to bring home the real charm of Chamonix.
You will find the utility room on the ground floor, excellently equipped with automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and spacious fridge/freezer. The chalet has been fitted with an increased capacity water tank to supply 600 litres of heated water. The chalet enjoys satelite TV together with a full cinema system including plasma screen and a full range of DVDs. We have full communications with our own PC, and Wi-Fi for lap tops together with printer scanner and fax.
There is a luxury sauna on the lower level. This is finished with a new jumbo size Hot Tub on the terrace to take in the wonderful views of Mont Blanc, to finish another perfect day in Chamonix! Directly under the chalet is a private garage to house one car. This has a automatic barrier system and is completely secure. The size is 3.10m x 5.50M with a max height of 2.20M.

Chamonix boasts some of the world's best ski areas with plenty of potential for challenge in down hill skiiing, ski touring, cross-country skiing, off piste skiing and snow boarding
La Flégére, Le Brevent and Les Houches have good novice facilities whilst Les Grands Montets is more suitable for skiers of intermediate standard upwards. Should you choose off piste ski-ing, it is advisable to use a guide.
Ski school is available along with private tuition which should be arranged in advance. See "Services". Lift and Restaurant facilities in all four areas are excellent. Lift passes are purchased locally. Please note that should your travel insurance not cover sports such as skiing, it is advisable to take out insurance at the time of buying your lift pass. This can be included in the price on request.
