To visit Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus is to experience a higher level of relaxed opulence, superior service and deluxe accommodation. The new, luxury resort is set amid a backdrop of stunning natural beauty in the Mediterranean near Paphos that overlooks the very spot where Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, is said to have emerged from the waves.
Developed and managed by Lanitis Development Ltd over a magnificent 578-acres, Aphrodite Hills is the first ever golf, leisure and real estate development in Cyprus. The £150 million Aphrodite Hills is currently in soft launch until March 2005 when it will feature a new five star deluxe, InterContinental hotel with 290 rooms and suites plus a presidential suite with a private pool.
A multi-award winning resort, Aphrodite Hills is the perfect place for guests seeking peace and tranquility on holiday. But it is also ideal for the more sportier among us who like to indulge in leisure pursuits such as golf and tennis. The resort offers a wide range of outstanding leisure amenities that cater for all abilities of tourists and residents alike. Cyprus is blessed with warm climate all year long so there is every opportunity to enjoy the resort's superb 18-hole, championship standard golf course of 6,269 metres complete with golf academy; competition-class tennis courts with tennis academy; luxury health spa with Greco-Roman thermos; and an excellent fitness centre.
The heart of the resort development nears completion with the new village centre of bars, restaurants and shops scheduled to open March 2005. Complementing the resort's facilities will also be a wonderful chapel and an amphitheatre - providing a beautiful, romantic setting for weddings.
The development schedule for Aphrodite Hills is as follows:
The InterContinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel is due to open in March 2005. By then Cyprus' membership into the EU will be well under way. Among its many services, the hotel will also feature extensive business and conferencing facilities.
Aphrodite Hills' village centre with its bars, restaurants and shops opens in January 2005.
The Retreat (the Spa at Aphrodite Hills) will be providing an exclusive health club facility to the owners as of May 2004 until the official opening in March 2005. The tennis academy has opened its first phase of 4 championship standard hard court surfaces in May 2004.
Weddings can take place at the delightful chapel in the resort, which opened in May 2004. The golf clubhouse, which is already open, offers a perfect venue to hold the reception.
Preserving the natural environment remains a key consideration to the development of the resort. Aphrodite Hills occupies two elevated plateaux on either side of the Randidi Gorge, a natural ravine and public nature reserve. The resort is also surrounded by the Randi Forest which is protected by the Cyprus Government's Department of Forestry.
Aphrodite Hills is a member of The World's Finest Resorts - a portfolio of exclusive, independent resorts, hotels and properties in some of the most desirable locations around the world.
